John Perkin's first book, Let Justice Roll Down, tells the story of his "spiritual awakening" through the witness
of his young son who had found "Life in Christ" in a "Child Evangelism" Bible study. John and his family were beginning
to prosper in Calif. when God sent them back to Mississippi to do a work among the poor that they had never imagined, including both evangelism and community development.
His story of God, whose love and power were greater than the hatred and oppression they faced there,
